Rara Neagră 2019 is crafted from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand at optimum maturity. Following destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes undergo an extended maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation to maximize colour, aroma and structure. After complete malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, where it develops additional complexity, elegance and depth. The result is a refined expression of Moldova's most emblematic red grape variety, combining authenticity with modern winemaking precision
Tasting notes
Deep ruby-red in colour with subtle garnet reflections. The nose reveals expressive aromas of ripe sour cherry, black cherry and forest berries, complemented by delicate notes of black pepper, dried herbs, vanilla and sweet spices. The palate is elegant and well-balanced, combining vibrant fruit character with silky tannins and refreshing acidity. Layers of dark berries, plum and subtle oak nuances lead to a long, smooth and persistent finish. Serve at 16–18°C. An excellent companion for grilled meats, lamb, traditional Moldovan cuisine and mature cheeses.
